The perfect day has dawned. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, still a little cool but not desert heat. So off we go to travel on the Tramway which is a cable car that goes up Sandria Mountain. The translation of Sandria is Watermelon, because when the sun sets the mountain gets the pink to red colours of a Watermelon. Since we have not been able to see a sunset since we have been in ABQ, we are hoping to see it tonight. We are at a park just west of ABQ, with the Sandria Mountain in the distance.
You may be wondering why we are still so close to ABQ, well, the reason is that we have been having a little problem with the RV pulling off from a stop. So we tried to get some help from the CAT agents, because it has a CAT engine, but they are booked up for a couple of days. They made some suggestions for Dirk to look at and one of them was a dirty Air Filter. Dirk checked it and found it very dirty, so we bought the element, went to the nearest RV park which is across the road from the agent and Dirk fitted it this afternoon. We are not sure whether that has solved the problem, we will really only know tomorrow when we travel to Santa Fe. One thing Dirk is pretty certain of, is that it is not terminal, because it pulls like a steam train on the open road.
We are pretty laid back about the delay, but having the amount of time to our disposal it is not a major issue. We would rather sort it out now while we are near a fairly big town, than when we get to the back of beyond.
Watch this spot, we'll keep you posted.

Looks like you got to see the Grand Ole Opry just in time. It is now flooded under a metre of water!
ReplyDeleteHi Hugh,
ReplyDeleteYou are right, looks like a trail of destruction behind us.
